That's all Folks!
Thank you all for following along with us to the Norwegian fjords and back again.
We really enjoyed sharing our travels and experiences with each of you. In particular, we want to thank the many people who sent us Direct Messages of support, questions and suggestions.
In 17 days (16 planned!) we did 5263.3 km over 110:01 hours, with an average speed of 50 km/h, consuming 24.1 kWh/100km.
Surprisingly a 10 km/h slower average speed than our typical winter trips – but with a 1 kWh/100 km less consumption.
Outside of the external Porsche Remote Service outage – which effected many globally – the car itself performed flawlessly.
We charged 26 times across this trip taking on a total of 1,331.8 kWh (1.3 MWh) with a cost of €421.47. We can only imagine what a trip like this would cost in a petrol flat-six or our previous 4.0L V8 Panamera Turbo S.
We really enjoyed experiencing the Norwegian fjords. It has been a dream of ours for some years now. There is just something about having a steep mountain climb, then down into a fjord with just breathtaking views and then through a tunnel onto a public ferry.
This is European road-trip culture at its very finest. And being able to do it in a performance vehicle that can accelerate as fast as a supercar but emit zero pollution into the local environment is a true privilege.
Unfortunately, the rain did dampen some of our plans and enjoyment – but that was out of our control.
We took a total of 4,243 photos and 3.04 TB video footage from a combination of our Dashcam and GoPro cameras. Unfortunately, due to weather (wet) we didn't use our Hasselblad-based drone at all during this trip.
We have already decided that we're going to again return to Tromsø for our winter trip in February – with a tweak to our route that we believe can get us to Norway a full 12 hours quicker.
Taking on – with the help of the Norwegian embassy here in Dublin – Norwegian language classes as a personal winter project. Norway needs more Norwegian spoken with Irish accents
We've documented that winter trip – a few times – so we're not sure we'll repeat a trip log for it. Be interested in hearing the folks who read our trips opinions. Especially, would it be too repetitive?
And a final reminder that the first post has an index of all the day reports and "special info" posts across this trip. Also, clicking into the individual images will bring you to the full resolution on flickr or you can view the album of the trip.
