Day 4: Aalborg (Denmark) → Kristiansand (Norway)
Woke up after a good rest to a lovely Danish summer morning.
And drove the short distance to the port at Hirtshals and joined the queue for our ferry to Norway.
We're crossing today to Kristiansand on the Superspeed 1.
Where there is a large crowd milling around waiting to board. We're used to winter – so this is way busier than we've experienced.
We leave right on time and get our last glimpse of Denmark.
Arriving into Norway after a smooth and uneventful crossing into a very different scene to the snow on the same ramp in February.
And its a short 1.5 km drive to our hotel for tonight – where we plug in for our first proper destination charge – which we start with our Fortum Charge & Drive RFID token. It is an 11kW charger that strangely is giving us 13.5 kW as reported by the car.
We'll be ready for a full day's exploring the coastal roads tomorrow.
Just as we were unpacking the car we get a call from Porsche Tracking to say there was a theft alarm on the car – despite us setting transport mode correctly for the ferry crossing. We cancel the false alarm – but now our MyPorsche app is showing the car as having no active Porsche Connect contract.
We contacted Porsche Connect Services helpline and they confirmed everything is fine with our contract and asked us to raise a bug with MyPorsche team - which we did. It is annoying not being able to see exactly when the car is charged so we can move it – and we do hope it doesn't impact Porsche Charging Service or Plug & Charge functionality – as we do use that a lot.
Right now our app is also showing Porsche Charging Service as "unavailable". Hopefully a good nights rest resolves.
It is great to be back in Norway!
